Sterile medications are typically intended to be used as injections, infusions, or applications to the eye. These medications may be used to treat infections and other serious conditions.
All sterile products are prepared in our "cleanroom" to ensure a germ-free product. We have designated cleanrooms for non-hazardous and hazardous medications. These rooms are routinely monitored and maintained in compliance with United States Pharmacopeia <797> and <800> standards.
Non-sterile medications typically include the production of solutions, suspensions, ointments, creams, powders, suppositories, capsules, and tablets. These medications may be appropriate for patients who experience trouble swallowing, require faster response to medications, or have allergies to some of the inactive ingredients to commercially-available medications.
All non-sterile products are prepared in compliance with United States Pharmacopeia <795> and <800> standards.
Specialty medications may range from oral to injectable and biologic products to treat complex disease states. Our pharmacists will work closely with your healthcare provider to determine the safest and most effective course of treatment.
